The Fog Has Got Me

Thank you, oh thank you Loyal Readers. As I'm sure you're aware, the last week has been CRAZY around here: start school for the 2 littles, moving into the dorm for the Girl, and getting ready for the cruise for HD and I. Then of course the actual cruise. Boy am I tired! I have taken some sort of nap for the last 3 days running and the fog has not lifted.

So! In light of that I'm going to give you a bullet list! To catch everyone up and get it off of my mind so I can hopefully move on.

*The boys both got the teachers that they wanted, and they both love them. Headless Boy 1 has 2 teachers and he equally loves them both. HB2 has a woman with our same last name and he thinks that it is the funniest thing ever.

*On Back-to-School night HD and I had to 'divide and conquer', so he went to the 1st grade classroom. Imagine his surprise when one of the contestants for Biggest Implants bent over in front of him to sign the volunteer list! I went to the 3rd grade class. Uneventful.

*Friday morning we took Headless Girl to her dorm at APU. In short, we were in and out in about 2 hours, and that was longer than she wanted us there. (I'm sure that I will post more about that later. My baby went to college and you really thought that I'd only give it a sentence or 2? Come on!!)

*We then went to pick up some friends from HD's work to go to the boat for the cruise. Cocktails by 1:30. 'Nuff said?

*No? Well, it was this cruise and there were about 120 employees, spouses, and friends of the family. It was a little awkward at first since most of us don't really know each other very well, but we ended up having a great time, and meeting other couples that work for the company that we would definately be friends with outside of work. It was an extremely generous gesture by the owners of the company, and a great way to relax after a hectic summer.

*As I said, I've had naps every day of the last 3-2 of those were of 2 hours or more. Last week kicked my butt.

*The other thing that kicked my butt was working in the 1st grade classroom today. Oy. I always forget how tired I get after the first day of volunteering.

*Finally, I have to give a huge THANK YOU to my parents for coming out to stay with the boys while we were away. Not only was the house still standing and the children still alive, but some chores were done (ironing and bathrooms anyone?) No one has better parents, no one. I love you Mom and Dad, more than words can say.

Well, there you have it. We are back in the swing of things around here, more or less. Let's hope the fog lifts soon so I can keep up!

OH HONEYBUNNY!!! guess what?

Our very favorite best in the world ever ECI (that's Early Childhood Interventionist, or we just like to call her the speech therapist....or STEPH) graduated from APU!!!YES FOR REALZ I KNOW THAT!
and we love her.
Actually I can't talk about it right now because it makes me way too sad that we will lose her (no more EARLY intervention at age 3) in 7 weeks.
BUT. I think if you need any alum support, I have her nearby right now.

I disagree. I think my parents are better.

Heh. :)

Glad you had a good time on the cruise. Was HD as antsy as you thought he'd be?

Oh, and HG - You wanted them out of there as fast as they'd go, you know it. :D
