It's A Birthday!

Mah Baybee turns 18 today.

For reals.

In the midst of being a family, trying to live for Christ, going to school, and the like, she went and growed up on me. It's just not right.

I tried to prevent it-believe me, bricks don't work. (You know the old saying, "I'm going to put a brick on your head so you stop growing up." No? Must've just been our family, then.)

So, in lieu of a real post today, please leave Headless Girl some luv in the comments. She needs some encouragement today, and there is no better time to celebrate God's amazing gift than today, the day that she entered this world.

Now, I'm off to start cooking for the (between) 20-30 people that are going to be here for dinner tonight. Full on Southern Cookin', my friends. Complete with collard greens.

Pray for me. ;-)

Hey HG, I can't believe I'm not there to help you celebrate this year. We were there for the last two or three years. Of course, if I were there your mom would want me to help cook and I have never cooked collards!

Have a fabulous birthday and eat a little okra for me. I love you lots!

Happy Birthday to HG!

In my family it wasn't bricks....it was a pickle jar. My mom always wanted to shove me in a pickle jar so I wouldn't grow any more. It must have worked....I'm only 5'2".....I did get older though :( Any ideas on how to slow that down?

Not to be crass or anything.... but how old are YOU feeling????

I'm only 5 - ok, 4 1/2 years - away from my Nina's 18th.

What happened to my toddler????

HG! I missed it by a day, but I hope your day was blessed. I know your mom and dad feel very blessed by you. You give me something to aim for in raising my little girl. Hang in there, the first year at school is such a tough adjustment. At this moment in time I'd give my right arm to go back to college.

Happy, happy belated!
