Not The Lunch I Meant to Have

I 've been going to a pilates class once a week for the past month or so, hoping beyond hope that it will inspire me to move more often and eat a little better than I have been.

I feel pretty lucky that I've settled into a place that I feel comfortable about my weight. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to look like Jillian Michaels, but the work involved? I'm just not willing to commit to that. My regular reading on the scale hovers around 150, and at 5'8" I'm ok with that. I (usually) exercise regularly and eat well and my weight hangs out right there without too much effort. Usually.

Enter the holidays. And colder, rainy weather. And a need of new running shoes, and that number has crept up a little.

Really. Just a little, but it's at the number that I know that it's time to get moving again and really watch what I eat. More salads, less caving in to the pizza or fast food or whatever is easiest. More steamed veggies are in our future, more water.

Anyway, the point of all of this, is this. I've been trying, right? Been starting to make better choices. Going to pilates, for pete's sake! So what did I have for lunch today?

English muffin toasted with peanut butter. 2 Samoas (Girl Scout cookies,) and chips and salsa.

Dammit. Feet, meet Square One. Again.

I actually joined Weight Watchers again in January to get back to my lower running weight but I have yet to actually do it seriously even after I saw how well it worked last winter. BTW, I'm also 5'8" and 150 pounds so I guess we're both just fine "technically"....

You both sound fabulous to me, being 5'8 and way over that number you both put down is much worse. I haven't seen 150 since 2004!

oh boy, am I hearing you on this topic. my weight has crept up ten pounds and I have zippo motivation to eat better. Zippo. Bupkus. Nada. Zilch. None. Am I making myself clear?

Reason #1 why I threw my scale out. It always made me cry. Kudos to healthier eating habits and getting outside...once it stops snowing...here in Jersey, anyways, DAMMIT!

Ahhh Samoas... I have been helping sell those suckers for weeks. And they finally arrived AFTER Lent started. Now they are already eaten by the family... and I didn't get ONE. :)

@Katherine- That is JUST WRONG on so many levels. You should have hid them, really. I do and feel ZERO remorse.

You sound delightfully healthy to me, even if the number is up a bit! I'm 5'5" and my number has been hovering about 35 lbs higher than 150 for quite some time. (Even prior to the latest pg and baby, so don't go all "You had a baby in the past year" on me!). 4 years ago I got down to 160-165 and felt great, so that's what i'm shooting for once I'm done nursing.

Damn GS cookies....they're ALL over our house, but I have been good.

The Samoa is, bar none, the best Girl Scout cookie around.

At 5'8" and 150 lbs, I'd say you're doing great! That's kinda my dream.

Those darn Samoas. At least you only had two. I had an entire sleeve of Do Si Dos yesterday...um, don't think 20 minutes walking on a treadmill is going to erase that.

Every day is a new chance, right?
