I was again a helper for Headless Boy 2's kindergarten class today. Have you ever been to a "farm" with 88 6 year olds? Boy that was fun.
Or should I just use the words of my 6 year old?
Boring.
Oh yes he did.
And the "farm"? Not quite what I was expecting. I went to college in a town surrounded by farms and meat packing plants. I have driven across this great country. I have even stepped in a real cowpie at a relatives' farm. (I was 7, I think, and ruined my awesome, new red sandals. Obviously I was scarred for life since I remember it in such detail.) I'm not saying that me + farm=BFFs or anything, but I've seen my share of farms and this was a "farm".
About 6 beef cows, (yes I said 6), a small bunch of sheep (maybe 10 on the outside plus their lambs), a koi pond, (really), about 4 adult pigs and supposedly there were piglets but I only saw one. There was one emu, some rescued greyhounds, a couple of African ox-like things that I can't remember their names, and about 4 horses, including a foal.
No agriculture to show the kids, either.
And all of this within about an hour or so. (Remember we were herding 88 6 year olds. The adults could have done the "tour" in about 30 minutes.)
The highlight of the day was seeing one of the sheep prance and perform a perfect leap right behind our tour guide. The kids thought that was great.
I think that they liked the bus ride better. But all I could do was think that I was so glad that he is my youngest and I NEVER have to do that again. (Note to other moms who may be thinking of going on this field trip? Skip it unless you have a real working farm in your area. The middle of one our country's largest metro areas is not the place to do this.)

In other news, thanks to all of you that sent me good get-better vibes. They worked! Except now HB1 needs them. He came home from school at the end of the trip and fell asleep about 1.2 seconds after his head hit the pillow tonight.
Also, AI results? I never expected Michael to go this early. Do I really need to start a new campaign like the one for Rami and Noriega? Come on people, Kristy Lee should have been sleeping at home before him!

Wait, what? I was all set to post some snarky comment like "Duh, you don't go to a farm in the city!" but Michael Johns was voted off?!?? Capital doubleyew-tee-eff? That's...ugh. I can't believe that.
Well, it seems to happen every year, someone you think will be going to the top 3 gets voted off and someone with the barest modicum of talent hangs around.
How depressing....
Glad you're feeling better, at least. :)
HD thinks Brooke, Cook, and Archie will be the top three. I'm not convinced, but I definitely thought that MJ would stay around longer.
MJ should not have gone. And as for HD's prediction, I'd rather see Dreadsboy in the top 3 than Brooke.
OK, somewhere along the line, I'm sure I told you never to have children! Now you know why, really boring field trips with noisy, silly 6 yr. olds.
Glad you're felling better.
About AI, Not happy about MJ, over Brooke a long time ago. David A should go. Love the dreads! And as to the tattoos, your brother should remember what his dad told him about earrings!

Nice, Mom. :)
You say "farm" I say glorified petting zoo...
I didn't think MJ should win, but...he certainly shouldn't have been the one to go. When he was "on", he had some serious game goin' on!
Didn't know you were feelin' lousy, but glad you're better...hope it passes quickly for anyone else who gets a taste of that yuck!
