One Hundred Push Ups

Can you do 100 push ups? Carmen started this program this week and I decided to join her.

Stop laughing!

My initial test was 14. Full, on your toes, real push ups. If I had been working out regularly I might have been able to do more but I'm ok with 14. Now comes the real hard part.

Each week for 6 weeks you follow the plan and you increase the number of push ups you do each session. The goal is to work up to 100.

Today I did the plan for my level, day 1, week one. Today I did 33 push ups. Yea me!

I also walked- not long or far, but I walked. (It would have been a lot longer if it hadn't been so bloody hot. 100+ here folks. No joke.) A little is better than nothing, right? I have to do something- I have 5 lb. that are creeping back up on me and that is just not acceptable. (Remember my summer schedule? Big birthday, BlogHer conference, Hawaii, cruise...)

So y'all now have the job of helping me to stay on track with the push ups. Anyone want to join me?

I can do forty. But I also worked the hell out of my shoulders and chest this morning.

Now you've got me wanting to hit 100.

I usually manage about 10 straight in the morning after I exercise, but that's after I've done all my other stuff and I'm usually winded.

I sometimes do a little workout with hand weights as well. My arms are bigger than they've ever been in my life, which isn't hard - you remember my scrawny little arms! But I'm toned now, at least in my upper body, and that's good enough for me. :)

Nope - - - ain't a gonna do it. Well, walk MAYBE.

The last few days I've been RUNNING - - - after a 2 and a half year old. Does THAT count?

I can't find my blog said...

Keetha- of course that counts! Especially since you're now working up to 2 babies to chase. Miss Piper won't be running for a while...

Ok, so you know...I probably would jump at the chance to do this with you, but with the "back" thing, I'm afraid to do anything. Doc gave me some stretches and I've yet to do them. Said he was gonna give me some exercises on Monday...great (*rolls eyes*).

Good luck - Keep us updated! :)

I'm PUSHING for you! LOL!
