A couple of weeks back I mentioned that I was fasting and praying, and some of you asked how it went. Let me tell you, it was truly amazing. I love the way that God shows up when you really ask Him to and give your whole heart and mind to Him. He really takes that ball and runs with it.
In my Bible reading time he led me to a passage in 2John. I have a Bible that has commentary and He very clearly told me to send a particular quote to one of my favorite bloggers.
"Be alert to what God is teaching you in every situation and how He wants to use you each day. It's movement with passion and purpose." Dianna Booher, from the Women of Faith Devotional Bible. She emailed me back and said that it really spoke to her in a difficult situation that she was having. I don't even know what her situation was but if I hadn't been faithful in my reading, or faithful in sending that email I would never have helped, or known that God was using that time.
Another day while reading I was led to a teeny little chapter in the Old Testament called Haggai. What a powerful read. It is a call to consider what our actions are and our purpose here. God asked me to tell someone to read that chapter and WOW! it was right on the mark for them. (Actually me too.) Who knew? Not me-just God using me to lead someone to where they need to look for guidance. I'm humbled.
As a side note to some of you that I met at BlogHer... I know that we have a differing opinion on religion. I write this stuff because it is a part of who I am, what I believe in. I hope that you stick around because this is a part of who I am, and just because I believe and you don't does not mean that we can't be friends, or I'm going to be ugly to you. You are my friends and if you learned one thing about me this weekend I hoped that you learned that I would never knowingly do something to upset you or hurt your feelings. If you would like to talk more about my views feel free to comment or email me. I'm no great apologist but I'll be happy to give you more of my 2 cents if you are curious about something.
So, there's a fraction of what I learned in that week. I have a few more posts lined up about this, and what God is doing in my heart and my life. I thank Him for this movement in me, and this wide-reaching outlet that I have at my fingertips.

Hugs! Continue to be bold about your faith. Remember Esther. "For such a time as this..."
Happy to find another believer. Also a non-judgmental one- we do exist!
Thanks for sharing your heart for following the Lord with us!
Thanks for sharing.
Glad your fasting went well... I know Lent is always my favourite time of year, so I understand how you feel about that.
Is nice to hear someone talk about their faith openly and unjudgmentally too... To be honest I have a hard time doing so (talking about my faith I mean) on my blog, not sure why... have no problems in real life - just on here :-j

I love you and I love that you are who you are with pride.
That's wonderful Headless Mom - I admire your strength - I doubt I'd make it.
I've been trying to email you but it keeps getting returned! WTH??
Big Kisses to you! Our views DO differ, but I would certainly never imagine that we couldn't be friends because of it!
MWAH!
The mere fact that you are so firm and absolute in your beliefs makes me want to stick around! And even though my husband is The Crazy, I like to learn about different religions, and why people believe the way they do.
