So.
Today while I was volunteering at the school HB1's teacher approached me about doing the party for the class NEXT FRIDAY.
If you don't know what I said, then you must be new around here.
8 days to plan a party for 8 and 9 year olds.
The room mom is going out of town on business next Friday and can't do it.
Are you kidding me?
What have I done?
I twittered last night about finding a cheap/easy/fast craft, and I'll talk to the teacher in the morning and finalize plans, and send out a letter to the parents for the final last things that we need. It will be fine, I know.
But, really? What was I thinking?

Get thee to Oriental Traders! Tons of crafts. Then send out an e-mail requesting for $5 a kid to cover the cost. At the sametime send out a list of stuff needed (drinks, cupcakes etc) and let the HELP pour IN. Bring some music and let the kids have fun.
I plan 10 class parties a year (room mom X2) and it can actually BE FUN. Trust me! Get in touch if you need help!
And as a teacher, I THANK all you brave room moms!!!
OMG - are you nuts??? Do you realize it's almost Christmas? Dinners to plan, presents to pick up, others to wrap...on top of all the other fun things like blogging, relaxing with that first cup of morning coffee...

You will be fine, crazed by the time it's over, but fine.
