A Big Saturday for My Big Boy

Some days are all about one kid. That's ok because other days are all about the other kids. They all get a chance, and they all even out in the end.

Saturday was one of those days for my #1.

He had a track meet on Saturday morning. Each child could only choose 2 events to participate in. He placed second in the 800, and third in the long jump! Go HB!

By the afternoon he was suited up for baseball. HB#1 walked twice, and scored once. They lost but had a great time and there were some awesome plays. Go Phillies!

As soon as we got home from the game he had to get ready for his first sleepover birthday party. When we arrived, (a few minutes late because of the game,) the kids were given Nerf guns, army camo jackets and hats, and they were off to battle. Rumor has it the boys only got about 4 hours of sleep. Suppose that has anything to do with the cranky on Sunday afternoon? Noooooo! Of course not! All in all they must have had a great time because he hasn't stopped talking about it yet. Seriously, non-stop.

One of the cool parts of sending one off to torture stay with friends is the snuggling that you get to do with the remaining one. #2 and I had a "date" at Qdoba for dinner, rented "Space Buddies" from our onDemand service, and got to snuggle on the couch 'til Daddy got home from work. I don't suppose there will be many more nights like that in my future, but it sure was nice on Saturday.

So. What did you do this weekend?

Don't you just love the Nerf fights?!

Each week in our house you can almost guarantee that we've got some sort of gun fight going on. Nerf, Paintball, Airsoft, Marshmellow or water fights; it's almost a daily activity once the weather warms up!

Congrats to HB#1! - I don't know if I ever won any kind of ribbon... :(

Sleepovers (at our house, or at someone elses) alway bring cranky-ness...I think it's a requirement.

We watched Marley & Me, and went and saw The Fast & The Furious (you know "Vin" is most definately my favorite eye candy)...Hubby put up really well with all my "hottie" comments too!

awwwwwwwwww.

I loved those cuddle nights.

Squeeze in as many as you can, cause soon enough all you will get is a shrugging hug on their way out the door.
