While we all reflect of what 2009 has meant to us, good and bad, I'd like to throw my reflections into the mix. Because I know your 2009 would be incomplete without this.
Lesson #1
Learned to quit biting my nails. It's really easy when you can't afford the twice monthly manicures. Unfortunately it took me 41 years to learn this. Granted, my nails don't grow fast and are not very strong, but they're decent looking and are getting there. I can actually type faster without them. Who knew?
Lesson #2
Coloring your hair on your own is not as scary as I thought. Again, a budget thing. My hair grows ridiculously fast, and with my *ahem* gray problem having my roots done every 4-6 weeks at $100 a pop just wasn't gonna happen. A $10 box of color, though, does fit into the budget. I found a color that matches what my girl does, and she even said that I did ok. No, I'll have to have it done a couple of times a year still, but for the in-between root coverage, the box is best. It's actually much easier than I thought it would be, too!
So there you have it. Two lessons I learned in 2009. Now your life is complete.
What did you learn this year?

Two Lessons I Learned in 2009

I've been doing the same thing with my hair. As long as I keep it dark, box color works fine for me.!
In the Spring I was talking with a fellow teacher about how thin my nails and hair were. She mentioned that if I took a multi-vitamin every day they both would thicken. After 6 weeks of diligently taking the vitamins, you could definitely see a difference! Not only are my nails thicker (though they've always been thin) but my hair grows much faster is also thicker!
I spent several years doing my own hair, even trimming. I use to do my own perms too. I think that it is great that you can do it yourself. They charge way to much these days! I've never bitten my nails. I have to think about what I have learned.....
I once bought a box of dye to color my own hair and my husband saw it on the counter and said he would gladly get a second job if it meant I didn't have to break out a bottle of dye in our house...
The biting the nails thing was never a problem for me but the hair thing totally is and was. I'm petrified of trying to do my own color job at home. The last time I did, I ended up having to pay a ton to have it fixed. Heh...
