Back in April and early May, there were pianos all over LA that were out for anyone to play. We were hoping to go to others but we only got to one. Like other art displays of cows, horses, turtles, or buffalo, local artists decorate pianos that were eventually sold for charity. You can read more about them on the LA Street Piano website.
We convinced HB#1 to sit and play. He didn't want to since he didn't have his sheet music with him but he tried anyway. Take a listen. It was great! At the time, he had only been taking lessons for about 10 months. One of the best parts were seeing all of the people that were walking by that actually stopped to listen to him. A few even played it, too!
That was a really cool day.

I saw a picture of one of these one day and it made me wonder how they PROTECTED the piano from the weather that would ruin it?
He did such a great job. Way to go!
Sounds like that was a fun time.
They put pianos out on the 16th Street Mall, too. I love them.
