Ha! And You Thought The Complaining Was Over!

I know that you're all tired of my busy summer-fighting kids-vacation posts. In reality, so am I. I have many posts floating around in my head and so little time to write them, or at least that is what I am telling myself. I have less than a week before school starts, which in and of itself is great. I'm thrilled to get my kids back on a schedule, and myself for that matter. (Here's the part that you all know has been coming...)

BUT-

My "General To Do" list is so long that I feel paralyzed. (Yes, I've blogged about this before. Yes, it is a common thread in my life. Shut up.)

ON THE LIST, in no particular order: wash linens in the bedrooms, clean 2 of 3 bathrooms, vacuum, get to Costco, prepare for my parents to come in next week, pack for the cruise, help Headless Girl pack to move into the dorm, BLOG so my traffic will come up and I will get some checks from my advertisers, look into a part time job some where, start exercising regularly so I can lose those few pounds that I've found this summer, clean my room so that I can paint it before my head explodes from the PINK (don't ask, I'll get to that post eventually,) finish the front bathroom (again, don't ask,) get the kids signed up for fall activities.

Am I forgetting something? Probably. But the worst part of all of this is that I keep derailing my own list with things like reading blogs and the Olympics. Oh, and pesky things like having to feed and bathe the children.

So, in conclusion, I suck. What I really want to know is, what has been your time suck lately? Is it the kids? The blog? The job? Something else? Let me know in the comments because, you know, I really need more of a deterrent from getting any of this stuff done any time soon.

Trying to fix the damn HTML on my site!! PLEASE, if you are an HTML wiz kid let me know! I need your help. My kiddos started today and I couldn't be more jazzed to get back on a schedule.

I love the kitchen timer, set it for 15 minutes and get MOVING on getting something done!

Headless, on your mark, get set, GO, set the timer for 15 and at least get the sheets done.

One load already in the dryer and will put one in the washer as soon as the noodles are done for the kids.

Multi-tasking! 3 things at once!

School cannot get here fast enough. It just cannot get here fast enough!

Yes, my time sink is the kids, and school prep, and my freaking dead dishwasher that needed to have a part ordered. I pity those frontier folk who had to wash their own tin cups and plates. Bleh!

Glad to know experienced moms get derailed by the large TO DO list and it's not just us beginners.

Is laziness a "time suck"?

Besides just being lazy lately, one issue is going to the chiropractor 3x a week, it's just a pain. Sometimes literally. LOL

OH, and most of my SUCK is mental. All the freaks in my life are sucking the life out of me...

I can't pin point it but it seems my list of things to do is getting longer and longer. My RSS feed takes up a lot of time, but I just adore my bloggy friends, so I'll have to make time for that.

Take a deep breath, put a smile on your face and jump in with both feet! We started school on Monday and it couldn't have come any sooner; however, I was a nervous wreck for C to start 7th grade! Oh.. and elementary school ALWAYS are looking for help, that's if you can handle being around 600 kids or so. :)

My biggest time suck would be weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth. (Back-to-school shopping) :S

We homeschool, so that is a great big time suck. Time spent prepping curriculum, time spend organizing other activities with other homeschoolers, time spent pulling my hair out while we learn how to count by 2's, 5's and 10's! Then there's the time refereeing and mediating between homeschoolers because we are all such an individual bunch of...well.... individuals with strong opinions! I keep telling myself that it's a worthwhile time suck because of the benefits of not worrying about others raising my kids while instilling in them all of our values. Like they were a big batch of moonshine and I'm just waiting for the intoxicating results of putting in all that energy! Yeah...that's my mantra...wait, is that a mantra? Hmmm.
Anyhow, I feel your list-making maniacal pain. I "live" there.
