Open Letter to the Trolls:

Why do you comment on blogs that you don't like? Why do you even read them? There are eleventy billion other blogs out there-go find one that you do like and leave my friends alone.

They are strong women. They are trying to make it through each day, with the cards that they've been dealt. This season, this economy, this life is hard sometimes and no one needs criticism from strangers that have no vested interest in their lives and don't care if their feelings are hurt.

If you want to be a part of this blogging community then remember the golden rule:

If you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all.

There is no reason to click on the comment box if you are not going to be positive, or at least constructive. Being hateful and/or 'superior' is unacceptable. Say it with love, respect and humility and you will be welcomed into this community. We're not interested in the rest.

Oh, and come to think of it this goes for the hateful stuff that is going around politically as well. Everyone has an opinion and if someone voices theirs in a polite, respectful, non-threatening way, there should be no repercussions or ugliness, regardless of what their opinion is.

Yay, Headless Mom! You're the awesomest!! I've gotten much better at dealing with mean commenters in my bloggy life, but I always catch myself wondering the same thing: if you hate me so much and I'm so horrible, why don't you stop reading?

P.S. I'm going to go give some love to those other bloggers and tell them Headless Mom sent me. ;)

A-M-E-N!

On another note, you can edit your blog so that you can "moderate" the comments. Basically it means, before it's acctually posted, you can "publish", "moderate" or "delete".

If there are those out there that have to be nasty, you might want to consider changing it.

You rock.

There is no sense to trolls. Some of them are sick and psychotic beyond mentioning and it creates paranoia because often? They are people on your blog or in your circle. It's not a pretty feeling.

Via the moderation comment. You still get exposed, but it does help. I moderate but it means that either I get emailed or still see the comment (Or part of it because I stop reading when I realize what it is and hit delete) so you can't undo the knowledge that you have been a target.

Then there is psycho troll that moves beyond mere commenting and creates the hate blog. Where you have zero control over anything beyond not saying anything about it and hoping that the author spontaneously combusts and burns for an eternity because they are truly evil and foul.

Not that I'm bitter or anything. ;)

Amen, sister. I guess the best part about only having like *2* readers is that my mom and sister aren't likely to leave me nasty messages. ;)

But it breaks my heart for those who are getting beat up on out there in our blogging community.
