(Not so) Wordless Wednesday: Whoops!

I have started to color my own hair periodically. You know, between visits when I really only need a root touch up? I started doing it last fall, (last summer?) and So far so good. That is, until last week.

I ran to Target and grabbed a color that I thought would only give me a little red boost while covering my roots. Heh. What do you think of my new carrot top? Well, it's not exactly carrot, but you get the idea. Yep, a little lot more red than I had planned on, and I didn't even let it process as long as the directions said. Whoops!

I've had so many hair color mishaps that I've decided to leave it to the pros from now one. Believe me, your mishap isn't as bad as it could be! At least you don't have patches of missing color. Even my own mother and husband (who is cheap) told me to stop coloring my own hair.

You are much braver than I am. I once bought hair color and it sat and sat and sat because I couldn't bring myself to do it. I think I ultimately threw it away...

Oops!!! When Sydney and I were in high school, we decided to color our hair (50+ years ago). I don't remember it being awful, but her mother made her stay home from school to wash her hair all day and my mother made me go to school and come home to wash it out. Only "bad" girls did that! Ha!

Hey everyone....that's my mom that posted just above this. That story? Is the reason that I was scared to do it myself for 40 years!

Rock on with your newly red-headed self! I think it looks great, even if it wasn't what you were shooting for.

I think it's a gorgeous color. I'm too scared to do it myself, I pay the nice lady who hides my roots.
