My mom used to make this when we were teenagers. It is to die for and worth the work. I took it to the same party as the Vanilla Wafer Pudding. I was quite the dessert queen that day!

(Kinda) Wordless Wednesday

Since I'm still talking about Las Vegas I thought I would show you the desert. I know, but notice the green? Most years by this time of June it's all already brown. Something else that you can't see is how red the mountains are. It was beautiful, the two colors together.

And yes, I was driving. Whatever.

Hey look! Easter, a week late!

My parents have been here for a week. I didn't intend to go the week without posting, but that's what happened. Life happened. And this:

• We watched the Royal Wedding, in 2-3 hour increments.
• We've been to 2 baseball games, finally winning on Tuesday night. (Whoot!)
• We played Monopoly.
• We ate.
• We drank wine.
• We went to Costco. 
• We just WERE. It was quite nice, actually.

Just A Note

...or 2.

First, I wrote about Guilty Pleasures on Monday and the photo that I found for the post is really beautiful. I mean, the post is good, but the picture is really great. Not mine. I'm still thinking about it 3 days later. Check it out. Oh, and go ahead and leave a a comment there and tell me your favorite guilty pleasure!

Second, our new 'baby' is coming home this week. No, not a baby-baby. My good friend Carrie, who is an amazing artist, journalist, and blogger, had an art show this month and we bought an original painting. I can't wait to get it home and find it a home somewhere. Her blog is My Studio 13, and she recently started a Zazzle store where you can buy custom iPad and iPhone cases. If I had an iPhone I'd totally get one. Drool over this:

Do you remember a few seasons ago when I fell in love with this guy during American Idol? I about fell over when I spotted him in New York last month while I was there for BlogHer. I was initially too shy to say anything or ask for a picture but my roommates Shannon and Diana insisted. So, thanks to them and Shannon's rockin' camera, I now have this awesome picture. He truly is so darling in person, in a I'm.old.enough.to.be.his.mother sort of way. Those baby blues? Totally match his shirt. Go ahead. Wordless Wednesday: Flag Salute

(Not so) Wordless Wednesday: Whoops!

I have started to color my own hair periodically. You know, between visits when I really only need a root touch up? I started doing it last fall, (last summer?) and So far so good. That is, until last week.

I ran to Target and grabbed a color that I thought would only give me a little red boost while covering my roots. Heh. What do you think of my new carrot top? Well, it's not exactly carrot, but you get the idea. Yep, a little lot more red than I had planned on, and I didn't even let it process as long as the directions said. Whoops!
