Frustrated!

Earlier in the summer when Headless boy #2 started conditioning for football I, too, got back on the fitness bandwagon. They met twice a week to run and do other exercise-y stuff. Me? I just walked around the make-shift 'track'. All .38 miles of it. (Yes, I make multiple trips. Duh.)

But a start is a start, right?

After the kids started practice for-reals, I started stepping up my routine, too. They practiced for 2 hours each weekday and I extended my workouts. I added running, more stretching, push-ups, etc. We've been watching what we eat, and with our garden, adding more fresh veggies, you know, just bettering the diet in general. I usually go for a full hour, with some days my walks lasting for up to an hour and a half. Some days I even work out twice: walking for a while in the morning when I walk the kids to school, and then again in the evening during football. TWICE!

You see where this is going, right?

This morning I got on the scale. (After my coffee and workout but before breakfast, mind you.) Not one pound lost. It's been over 2 months, people. I'm not looking for 10 or more pounds, but a few might be nice, right? My jeans are way tighter than last winter when I wasn't working out, (because I was simply lazy and didn't have football practice to push me to just.do.it.already.since.I.have.to.be.there.anyway.) I'm horribly frustrated. Not to mention that I don't have the money to go buy all new jeans for winter.

So tell me. When you've hit a plateau, what do you do? I don't belong to a gym, so I can't change it up there. Help a sister out, would ya?

For me it's all about the eating. Eating healthy and eating less aren't synonymous for me, especially when I'm working out more. I feel as though I deserve more treats. I used to be on Weight Watchers, now I loosely follow the points system. I need to get back on it a little more strictly to see what I really can be eating with my new exercise (read: dog walking) regimen.

I've gone bck to "basics" I measure my meals. ALl those veggies are great and fabulous but if they are twice the size of a serving? they are twice tghe cals too. If you fry them vs steaming? I'm no longer frying. meat? BBQ on the Grill so the fat burns away. I also add moretime to my walks. When I can it works. The other night I went walking and went swingning on teh swings because we took a 2yrold with us. I also offer to pull the wagon or push the stroller for my friend. She's there for the compnay not the losses, i'm there for the losses. :P

write it down, what you've been eating lately? just to see what you've been eating? and you will see. i'm down 3.6 in 4wks but I wasn't an angel, that should have been more. LOL

You know that I don't have any advice because you know how I look.
{giggle} I do believe that building your muscles and getting them into shape, as you know, is often added pounds so the fact that you didn't put weight on is a good thing. I think you looked awesome on Tuesday, I guess I should have told you that!! Less carbs is always a good plan.

You're probably building more muscle mass. Try eating smaller portions. This helps me when I actually want to lose weight, as opposed to just bulk up.

this stinks! i must admit that one of the reasons i DON'T exercise, is that it seems to make be hungrier, then i eat more. when i don't exercise, i weigh less, but i'm super-flabby and not heart-healthy for the long run. sooo, no advice from me, just sympathy.

That really stinks, I have always heard muscle weighs more than fat.
