All They Want For Christmas

A few years ago we Santa got the boys an XBOX for Christmas. It was a huge surprise for them since we've been, um, 'late adopters' of technology and gaming. They, for obvious reasons, loved it and dove into gaming head first. One of my boys even has his own YouTube channel for gaming. (But you knew that, right?)

Similarly, I've not always been a fan of the shooting/war type games but I was over-ridden in the decision department and the boys haven't looked back. They are hooked.

For years now my boys have asked for Assasin's Creed. They ask and ask and ask. So far, the answer has always been 'No'. Why? Eh, I don't know. Because I can? But earlier this fall I started to have second thoughts about the new Assasin's Creed 3. It is the story of the American Revolution and if you've seen the commercials you know that it doesn't look like a game, but like a movie. The scenery is beautiful, the colors vivid, and all of the historical 'players' are included. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect it to be 100% historically accurate, but any video game that has my son walking around quoting Benjamin Franklin deserves a shot in my house. My boys have already watched numerous videos (on YouTube, of course!) on this game and they are drooling to get a chance to play it. Who am I to say no to a video game that is getting them interested in history?! Sshhh! Don't tell them, but I'm not saying no to this one anymore.
