Flooding: A Photo Essay

The water in my front hall, from the front door toward the back of the house.

Squishy carpet. (And the remnants of a pedicure...)

Same hallway, different view.

Waterline in entry way.

No more tile!
OK, so I know it could have been way worse. I know. But 3 nights in a hotel so far is enough. My entire family is so ready to go home for good. Even my fast-food junkie kid didn't want to eat out tonight. They took out 3 more fans today: only 2 fans and 2 dehumidifiers remain. Hopefully by the time many of you read this I will be in the process of checking out of the hotel, getting home, and making dinner for my family to get some sense of normalcy back in our lives. I know many people live without flooring, or even a floor, so I'm not complaining, but I'm really, really, really ready to be home without the hum of massive fans.

Commiserate with me in the comments!

Oh, that is so terrible though. I am so sorry. Yes, it could always be worse, but that doesn't make what you're going through any less awful. Fingers crossed that things go smoothly.

Just last week by bathroom was finally repaired after a flood in July. A much smaller flood than yours but I tell you being able to brush my teeth in the bathroom again was one of life's true joys. Hope you're getting home now!

The pictures say it all! (f*ck)
I know if it were me I would most likely be in the nut house right now! I don't handle things like this well. The blessing is that it wasn't worse but that doesn't mean this isn't a horrible situation.
