A bad habit I'm going to break: Being lazy. I, far too often, find myself wondering where my day went and what I've accomplished. (That would be a big fat nothing, by the way.) I've proven to myself over and over again if I would just move and do SOMETHING, that more of the tasks get done.
A new skill I'd like to learn: Action. I mentioned in my last post that I think that this is the year of action for me, which is definitely new. I'm used to being lazy so this is going to be a learning thing. My plan is that by the end of the year I will have learned it so well that it will be second nature.
A person I hope to be more like: This may sound cliche, but Jesus. I've been reading my Bible regularly now for about 4 or 5 months and learning more about him. Let this year be the year that those lessons I've read sink in, and then ooze out of me without me even knowing it.
A good deed I'm going to do: I think that if I can be more like Jesus then this one will be a no-brainer. I just don't know what it looks like yet.
A place I'd like to visit: Does it count if it's already booked? My HB#1 and I get to go on a trip to
DC with a group of 8th graders and parents. It will be a week choc full of monuments, museums, restaurants, and fun times. I can't wait!
A book I'd like to read: I recently downloaded a number of books by Beth Moore and Joshilyn Jackson. I'm also looking forward to reading the new Pat Conroy book that I purchased in the fall and have yet to crack open.
A letter I'm going to write: I'm going to try to write more letters, in general. I love getting real mail and I'm pretty certain that most people do too. I have a list of people that I'll start with (an old list from last year,) then I'm going to hit up a few internet friends and other old friends. I'm shooting for one per week, more if I can.
A new food I'm going to try: I'm not so big on trying new food but it's new that we have a winter garden and I will be eating out of that. Does that count? And I'll be trying new recipes to get us out of our food rut.
I'm going to do better at: being a consistent blogger. Now that I'll be home with my home schooling son most days I absolutely have a little time each week to write, read, and comment. You can hold me to it!

So they need another chaperone? What a great trip, I've never been. Good questions, I enjoyed reading your answers.
you have a reasonable list. I like that it's not too pie in the sky. :) Good luck with the class trip. :) What a great opportunity.
My 2013 was so traumatic I am still just happy dancing that it's 2014! Seriously, though-- love your list! Enjoy your homeschool adventure!
