Kitchen, Part 1

This is what my kitchen looked like last spring when this whole process started. Well, mostly, anyway. This particular picture was taken to ask my Facebook friends what they loved and hated about their kitchens before we started to make decisions about ours. About 5 months later is when the decisions were actually made.

We knew that we really didn't want to change the footprint of the kitchen, for two reasons. First, we really, really love our hardwood floors, (not pictured,) and to pull them up and have to have the seams matched, etc., would have been awful. Second, we actually like the way that our kitchen flows and how big it is. We talked some about getting a bigger stove, or moving the cooktop to the peninsula, but ultimately decided that it was perfect just the way it was.

Looking at this now it's really hard to believe that it looked like this a few short weeks ago! In the coming days I'll share our process with you and ultimately give you some pros and cons, product reviews, and pictures of the final product! Stay tuned....

I too like the size of my kitchen but the thoughts of changing things is so very overwhelming.

I'm glad you did it. Projects can be so overwhelming but the end is always spectacular!
