Quick! What is the ONE Christmas decoration that you must have out every year, or it just isn't Christmas? A Santa figurine? The tree? An angel? The stockings? What is it? Play along with us!
Thanks for your participation last week. Many of us had lots of the same favorite shows. I laughed remembering HR Puffinstuff, The Electric Company (Bernadette rules!), and The Cosby Show (really well done. Not much of that any more, eh?) My fave that wasn't mentioned was Friends (what were you people thinking?) I also loved West Wing (in the beginning,) and Crossing Jordan (before it was canceled. Tragic.) I still watch Days of Our Lives-since the '70's, I might add. I also currently love Grey's Anatomy, and American Idol, (in the spring), Biggest Loser, and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (when I can catch it.) But, my favorite show of all time is ER. I am dying a slow death until the end of the season. I don't know what I'm going to do. I remember watching the 2 hour pilot in my apartment in Columbia, South Carolina. I was also reading a novel by Michael Crichton at the same time, during the commercials. I'm so sad that he died before he was able to see the end of such an amazing project.

Thank you Cast, Crew, Writers, Creators, NBC, everyone! for this fabulous show. My Thursdays will never be the same. (I even got 9 out of 10 on this quiz about ER-What's your score?)
Don't forget to tell me about your favorite decoration!

The Tree. Of course I used to put up a real tree each year, until I went back to teaching full time and now I am just thankful to have the energy to do an artificial one.
i have no idea! i guess the tree, but that hasn't even been so important to me for the past several years. last year we were going to be in the states for christmas so we didn't decorate at all in turkey. the kids were a little sad, but my parents waited for us to decorate their tree so the kids got to help with it. this year we will decorate since we will be at home most of the holiday. as i've unpacked boxes that have been in storage for the past 7 years i have discovered quite a few christmas decorations that i forgot i even had! brian is going to die when he gets here on thursday and see how much stuff we already/still own!
The ribbon and red beads on the tree. It's really the only contribution I make to the Christmas decor, so without them, it just couldn't be Christmas.
I have a waterford crystal christmas tree. it is about 12" high and weighs a ton. My grandma had it, then my mom and now it is mine. When the years come where I stop going thru the hastle of the tree and lights and all that...I will always break out this crystal tree to place on the dining room table.
Okay that and WINE. For somereason I really only drink at home during the holidays.
Nobody mentioned Friends because the first two seasons were really funny and then it started to suck, fast and hard.
For me, there are two decorations that I've bought recently - One is a little dark red bucket that has Merry Christmas painted on it. The other is a metal hoop tree that has a rusted star on top and then red, white, brown & green jingle bells all around it. I LOVE it and I love the sound it makes.
I also love our sleigh & reindeer stocking holders. :)
But one? The jingle bell tree. :)
I give my husband a Swavorski ornament each year for our anniversary (he is so lucky) and I put them on a special ornament tree. That is my alltime favorite seeing them sparkle in the light!
I have a mini bottle of Tabasco sauce who we lovingly call "Rudy," and who has graced our tree with his presence since time immemorial. I'm not sure what I'd do if Rudy couldn't join us for Christmas. Seriously.
Peter - that reminds me of a homemade decoration I made one year - took a church key to a can of Budweiser & stuck a light from the tree into it.
I think my parents still have that... :)
Christmas stockings are soosooo important. Both Marty and I have the stockings we had as kids. I'm currently looking to have some made for the boys. They just have so many memories attached.
